Advice for Road Runners: The Altra Men's Via Olympus 2 Road Running Shoes are designed to provide soft cushioning and a natural running experience. These neutral road running shoes should help to take pressure off your feet and legs during training runs.
Underfoot Experience
The Altra EGO™ MAX Midsole foam found in the Via Olympus 2 is light, soft and provides some spring. For wearers of the original Altra Via Olympus, please note that Altra designed this midsole to be softer than the midsole found in the first edition.
The midsole is built on Altra's Balanced Cushioning™ platform which consists of a zero drop from heel to toe. This should contribute to a natural running experience.
A rocker shaped geometry should help to encourage easy and efficient movement through the gait cycle.
Upper Fit
The upper of the Via Olympus 2 is Altra's original FootShape™ Fit. This should allow plenty room for your toes to splay, and minimise the chance of excess compression on the sides of your feet.
The engineered mesh upper is very breathable. A molded heel collar offers a comfortable, secure fit. The heel collar has been updated from the heel collar used in the first edition of the Via Olympus.
Ideal Run Type
The Altra Men's Via Olympus 2 Road Running Shoes are best suited to easy to steady-paced training runs. The combination of soft cushioning, Balanced Cushioning™ and rocker shaped geometry is designed to alleviate pressure on your feet and legs.
